Obituary
William “Bill” Claytor Sr, 88 of Bruner, Mo passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024 at his residence.
William Jones Claytor was born on Tuesday, December 17, 1935 in McKenzie, TN to William Floyd and Mabel Grace (Jones) Claytor. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy on February 5, 1953 and served as a Company Clerk. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Teleman Petty Officer 3rd. Class in 1956. He was awarded the National Defense Medal for his service during the Korean War. During his time in the Navy, Bill married Rosiland Mae Davis on May 2, 1953. Throughout his life, Bill worked as a Real Estate Broker, owned and operated the Antique Store Barn O’ Plenty and owned and operated Business Air Power in Mo.
He enjoyed working real estate, building and racing cars and ranching.
Bill is survived by two daughters, Karen Easton and husband, Steven, Karla Courtney and husband, Robert; one son, William Claytor Jr. and significant other, Sandy; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Ashley Griffin and husband, Jeremy and their children, Micha, Sloane, Emerson, Lakelyn and Grayson. William Claytor III and wife Sarah and children, Alec Cloey and Kaleb, Brittany Barteime and husband Brandon and children, Ryann, Seiler and Landyn, Kathryn Myers and husband,Jason and children, Aria and Piper, Corrine Easton and children, Alyvia, Vyvian, Everett and Haven, Danielle Gorham and husband, Josh and Children, Kinzley, Decqlyn, Harlow and Easton, Zachary Rice and child, William, Kalyn Still and husband, Wayne and children, Nolan and Nadalyn; two sisters, Sharon Claytor and Beverly Darmer; sister-in-law, Evelyn Eubank and significant other Kathy and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Floyd Claytor and Mabel Grace Jones; wife, Rosiland Mae Claytor.
A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the Klingner Cope Family Funeral Home Rivermonte: 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave. Springfield, Mo 65804. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with the funeral service starting at 11:00 A.M. with Mr. Steven Easton officiating.
