Obituary
Thomas Audet Kline, 87, of Williamsport, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 16, 2023.
He was born in Williamsport April 14, 1936, a son of William and Mary Kline.
Tom was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, after graduation he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 until 1958.
He had been employed at Bethlehem Steel as a wire drawer and later for Lycoming County Prison.
Tom was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Marine Corp League, Notre Dame Club and was inducted into the West Branch Sports Hall of Fame and District 4 Sports Hall of Fame for basketball officiating and softball umpiring. Tom loved sports and was a loyal a huge fan of both Notre Dame and Pittsburgh Steelers football. He was a basketball official and softball umpire for over 60 years with multiple organizations around the state of PA.
Tom was extremely proud of his 40 years of sobriety and all the individuals he helped in the journey to free themselves from their drug and alcohol addiction.
He and his wife, the former Sandra Bennett Kline, celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in 2023, surviving in addition to his wife are their children and their families, Kathleen (Michael) Hendershot of Cogan Station, Thomas P. (Jessica) Kline of Chesterfield, VA ; grandchildren, Annelyse (Michael) Bibleheimer of Vernal, Utah, Olivia (Andrew) Ryder of Anchorage, Alaska, Ethan Hendershot of Cogan Station, Brennan and Paige Kline of Chesterfield, VA; brother, James (Christine) Kline of Plainfield, Indiana; sister, Elizabeth Contando of Horseheads, NY.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Ann Pagana and a brother, William Kline preceded him in death.
The family will receive family and friends from 9 to 10 am in the church’s portico on Thursday morning.
A Mass of Burial Christian will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. 4th St., Williamsport, burial with full military honors will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
