Obituary
Terry Edwin Dahlberg Sr. passed away on Sunday, September 19th 2021. He was a twenty-year resident of Crescent City. Terry moved to Crescent City after retiring from the River Delta Unified School District in Sacramento County, after working there for 30 years. He worked part-time in the Crescent City area after his retirement as a home inspector.
Terry Sr. and his wife, Gloria, were married 55 years. They were married on September 17, 1966. He fought hard with cancer to come home from the hospital for his 55th wedding anniversary. Terry passed two days later while asleep surrounded by family who loved him.
He was a dedicated Jehovah's Witness and had served as an elder in the Sacramento Area for 8 years. During this time, he served on the Regional Quick Build Committee and worked on building many Kingdom Halls throughout the Central/Northern California area.
To this day, many of the ‘kids’ his sons grew up with viewed Terry as a spiritual father because he always took the time to help them and their families and he taught them many things. Including taking kids fishing, hunting and sharing his love of the outdoors. Terry would take groups on camping excursions to places like Yosemite, Dillon Beach, Sly Park, and other areas in the Sierra.
He was known for helping everyone he could and never expected anything in return but a ‘Thank You’. Terry also loved gadgets and tools and loved building things & fixing things. He helped countless people repair their homes and vehicles out of the goodness of his heart.
Terry Sr. was born on June 23, 1946, in Lodi, CA. to Theodore and Lillian Dahlberg. He was the 7th born of 8 children. He had 6 brothers and 1 sister. Terry is survived by his 2 brothers, Teddy and Bill Dahlberg. He is also survived by his wife Gloria, sons; Terry Jr., wife (Shameka), Adam, wife (Andrea), and 3 grandsons; Adam Jr., Tabias, and Josiah.
We look forward to seeing him again in the Paradise as promised in the Bible. Until that time, may we be comforted by the words found at Revelation 21:4 ”And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
Terry Sr. wished to be cremated with no formal services. A celebration of life ceremony is scheduled for October 23rd at 5pm on Zoom through his local Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, The Bayside Congregation.
