Obituary

Suzanne Marie Hurst, 97, of Springfield, MO passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024 from complications of dementia. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on Sunday, December 30, 1934.

Suzanne was the owner and operator (along with her husband and later her son, grandson and granddaughter) of Kiddie Kart Ice Cream Company until 2015.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Shomers and Marie Shomers of Parkersburg, WV, her husband Raymond "Gene" Hurst of Springfield, MO and one brother Michael Shomers of Jacksonville, FL.  

Suzanne is survived by her two children Becky Edwards (husband Gale) and Joseph Hurst of Springfield, MO, four grandchildren MaryBeth Hurst, Justin Hurst (wife Elizabeth), Stephanie Neuberger (husband Brad) and Ally Akin (husband Scott), ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, one brother Paul Shomers (wife Lee) of North Carolina, one sister MaryJo Airhart (husband Steve) of Georgia and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
