Obituary

Crescent City - "Sunni" Suter went home to meet her Savior on Saturday August 18, 2012, three days before her 90th birthday.
Born Verna Ruth Lakey on August 21, 1922 in Warrensburg, MO Sunni moved to Southern California in 1941 to be near her sister Mary Martin. Sunni worked as a welder in the Long Beach shipyards during World War II where she met and married her husband Warren Suter.

Sunni moved to Crescent City in 1979 and was a talented artist, seamstress, and cook. Sunni was active in the Del Norte Art Association and a member of Pelican Bay Evangelical Free Church.

Surviving family are her daughter Nancy Suter of Crescent City; niece Judy (Ron) Shelp of Grand Junction, CO; great-nephew Marty(Sarah) Shelp of Palisades, CO and great-niece Penny(Larry) Crawford of Nellysford, VA
