Obituary

Steven “Bull” Vincent Bullion, 56, passed away peacefully, April 21,2024 at UAB Hospital. Steve lost his long hard battle with heart and renal failure. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda and their three fur babies, Ammo, Trigger (Bobbi) and Miss Mittens. His son Craig “Bull” Bullion (Angela), stepson, Nicholas “Nick” Batey (Ashley). Daughters, Hannah Reese (Brandon), Sarah Bullion and Rachel Smith, Brother, William “Skeeter” Bullion and his mother, Ernestine “Ma” Bullion. Grandchildren, Blayze Bullion, Haylee Smith (Andrew), Destiny Elkins, Braxton Reese, Aiden Bullion-Walker, Ava Grace Reese, Emma Smith and Lola Reese. Great grandchildren, Abigal and Max Smith. Nieces, Katie Beard, Emily Goggans, and Mattie Willis. He was proceeded in death by his father, William Vincent Bullion.

Steve started his life working closely with his father “Vance” and brother “Skeeter” making signs, however he found his true calling as a police officer. He started his career with UAB Police, worked for the Hackleburg Police Department and retired due to his medical problems from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in November of 2023. Rhonda would like to thank these three departments specifically for all the love and support they have shown her.

Steve always told Rhonda that he was fortunate enough to have two loves in his life. He used to tell her Christy Dodd was his first love and that Rhonda is and will always be his last love and that he couldn’t imagine his life without either one of them. He also was very fortunate to have a lifelong friendship with Carol Watkins Riney and Shawna Ellis. They never lost touch and they both were with Steve until the day of his passing.

His wife would like to thank the UAB Cardiac Care Unit and the wonderful team of doctors and nurses that did everything humanly possible to make him better. She would like to thank the nurses, Julie, Brittany, and Michelle specifically for keeping him comfortable when he left this earth to make his journey to be with his father and his big granny. Rhonda would also like to than her partner, Mattew Waldrep, her supervisor, Brandon “Bopper” James and everyone at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for all their love and support during the last year.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you consider being an organ donor and/or making a donation to the American Heart Association and National Kidney Foundation.
