Obituary

Silas Scott Johnson was born on October 6, 1993 to Travis and Sarah Johnson. He officially passed away on Sunday April 23, 2023 at 1:41 pm. Silas passed away as the result of a tragic car accident that happened on Friday April 21, 2023. He made the heroic decision to become an organ and tissue donor, because of his unselfish decision many people will get the miracles they have been praying for.
Silas was the oldest of eight children. He was the first grandchild, and the first great-grandchild on the Berg's side of the family. Silas was the first grandchild to live in Crescent City on the Johnson side of the family. Silas was an easy baby and child, he loved to be outside catching bugs and critters. He loved to skateboard, play soccer and baseball, he took to the water like a fish and was an amazing swimmer. He discovered his love for music at about 10 years old he began taking lessons and found his groove, and never looked back. Silas was a kind soul, he never met a dog he didn’t love, I am sure he was met by his beloved dog Molly when he walked across the rainbow bridge.
Silas was a 2012 graduate from Sunset High School. He loved gardening and had a natural green thumb. He loved to give his dad advice on his garden. He loved to hunt for Pokemon with his baby brother and he enjoyed teaching his youngest sister how to skateboard. He also enjoyed teaching his little cousins guitar lessons. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and talents with others. I have had many people come forward and tell us how sweet he was. I don’t think Silas ever met a person he considered a stranger.
Silas is survived by his partner Chrissy Courtright, his parents, Travis and Sarah (Berg) Johnson his siblings; brother Josiah Johnson (wife Kiera) niece Emeryn and nephew Cohen. Sister MaryAnn Johnson (Chase) nieces Lyric and Atlas DeCosta. Brother Hunter Johnson (Megan), sister TaraLynn Johnson, brother Braydan Johnson, brother Jaxon Johnson and sister TaLila Johnson. He also has many bonus siblings from the many years of daycare. His grandparents Chuck and Annette Berg and many aunts and uncles and cousins.
Silas was a son, a brother, a life partner, a grandson, a nephew, an uncle and a best friend. He was loved beyond measure and he will be truly missed. The world was a better place because he was in it.
Please come and share your memories of Silas with us. The family asks that you wear your favorite rock band shirt.
In lieu of flowers if you would like to give a donation in Silas’s name to the Donor Network West.
