Obituary

Sherry New, a long-time resident of Sandy, passed away on November 15, 2023. She died at the age of 47 after battling lung cancer.


Sherry was born in Duncan, Oklahoma on February 4, 1976, to Loyed and Geneva Mott. At 9 years old, she moved to Sandy where she would go on to meet the love of her life, Tracy New. Sherry and Tracy were married on April 30, 1994. Shortly after they would welcome their first-born Tyler New, followed by their daughter Chariti New.


Sherry was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, and sister. She loved spending time on her farm with family. She would always look forward to her beach vacation getaways and she always loved to explore the world with her best friend/husband Tracy. 

Sherry is survived by; her parents Geneva and Loyed Mott, her husband Tracy New, her children Tyler New and Chariti New as well as her brother, Buzz Mott.


A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00am on November 25th at the Sandy Funeral Home.

I remember how nice friendly she was to me and to everybody else with a great small and her and Tracy were great people and would be grateful
Missed but she is in a better place with Savior and god will be with you during this tough time but keep your faith in god and he will bring all of you through because he is alpha an mega god and my prayers are with your family.

I miss you, it still doesn’t feel real to me. Some days are harder than others but I know you’re not hurting anymore. Thank you for being the best sister to me and aunt to my boys.
