Obituary
Mrs. Sheila Fae Lee, Indianapolis, peacefully passed away on the early morning of Saturday, April 27, 2024. She was 82. Born July 26, 1941, in Vincennes, Indiana, she was one of 12 children born to Willie Franklin Hendrixson and Edna Mae (Chastain) Hendrixson.
Sheila was the epitome of devotion, dedicating her life to her family as a loving homemaker and nurturing her children. In her leisure time, she found joy in reading, solving word search puzzles and indulging in her passion for cooking, gardening, making jelly and cultivating beautiful flowers and vegetables. She cherished moments watching Elvis movies and spending quality time with her beloved family, actively involved in every aspect of their lives. Coming from a large family, she also made sure to keep in contact with her brothers and sister. Sheila will be deeply missed by all who knew her and fondly remembered for her unwavering love, kindness and devotion to her family.
Sheila is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Doyle Lee, Sr.; her sons Daniel (Crystal) Lee and Douglas (Connie) Lee, along with five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Donald (Sherrie) Hendrixson, Romelda Oldfield and Bill (Nancy) Hendrixson, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sheila is preceded in passing by her son Doyle A. Lee, Jr. and eight siblings.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 1:30 pm, Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
