Obituary

Ruth D. Wisecup, 84, of Crescent City, CA, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024, at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Ruth was born on September 2, 1940, in Pueblo, CO. She grew up in Colorado and graduated from Western State College of Colorado in 1963 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Ruth married her sweetheart, Morey, on July 5, 1968, and they shared 45 wonderful years together until his passing in 2013.

Affectionately known to most as Grandma Ruth, she worked as an instructional assistant in Sonoma County for 20 years, where she was known for her dedication and compassion. After moving to Crescent City in 2015, she became an active member of the local Foster Grandparent Program. She enjoyed gardening, volunteering, and spending time with her family. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and integrity.

Ruth is survived by her four children, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coastal Home Health and Hospice in Ruth’s honor.
