Obituary
Russell, a longtime Estacada resident, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the age of 67.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, at Russell and Janet’s home in Eagle Creek.
Born on September 23, 1957, in Portland, Oregon, he was the 2nd of 6 children. His parents Phyllis Jean Morse and Lyman “Fred” Morse raised him in Eagle Creek, just a mile from where he later raised his own family with his beloved wife, Janet. He graduated from Estacada High School in 1975 and went on to have an adventurous and fulfilling career as a Boilermaker for 38 years.
In 1982, he married Janet Irene Maraldo, and together they shared 43 wonderful years. Known for his love of golf, hunting, fishing, and building or tinkering with just about everything. He enjoyed entertaining guests and spending quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Anyone who knew Russell would say he was an optimistic man with a quick wit and the best one-liners. Some of his favorites included, “I’m going to show you one more time,” “Drive fast and take chances,” and “Somebody’s going to cry, but it ain’t going to be me.” He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it, and his honesty, kindness, and generosity led him to be loved by many.
Survived by his wife, Janet; his two children, Freddie and Cassi; and his eleven grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and laughter throughout his life.
