Obituary
Our beloved grandmother Rose C. Patterson passed away peacefully on May 9, 2012. She was born on November 21, 1919 in Klamath to Ada and Albert Johnson. She spent most of her childhood in an around Requa and Klamath learning her native culture from her grandmother. She was very proud of her Native American heritage. As an adult, she had four children who she raised alone. Working many kinds of jobs to provide the best that she could for them. Rose did everything from working in the lily fields to taking care of people and maid work. She will be remembered for the truly hard working woman she was who wanted what was best for her family.
Her family and friends truly believe that it was spending time with her grandchildren that brought her most joy. She loved to gather them all up in her van and go to the river. The most precious memories her grandchildren have of their grandmother was camping they did together, the fishing trips to the lake to catch cat fish, even the trips down to the docks to catch crabs. There were so many fond memories they had of their grandmother that it would take years to tell all of them all. Rose spent every moment she could with her grandchildren. She was very kind, loving, selfless woman who would go out of her way to put a smile on your face. Rose dedicated her whole life to her family. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her all agree on one thing, she touched each of their hearts in a very special way and brought joy in so many ways. Grandma Rose was an uncommon woman, someone who made a difference in the lives of all her grandchildren.
Rose is survived by numerous grandchildren, just to name a few Monica McAlister, Candelario Garcia, Alicia Garcia, Lavertta Waggle, Gerald Stewart, John Stewart, Lavina Rogers, Connie Boyd and Sonny Stewart. She also leaves behind many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her four children Alfred, Alvin, Harold and Betty Stewart.
Rose was an amazing daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by many whose heart and soul she touched. Rest in peace grandma, we love you.
