Obituary
Mr. Ronald Lee Wise, Greenwood, passed away on the late evening of Monday, June 24, 2024 He was 88. Born May 26, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the son of the late Oscar and Arva (Traylor) Wise.
Ron attended George Washington High School, where he graduated in 1954. During his time there, he was the captain of the football team and served as class president. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Indianapolis in 1958 and later obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration from Indiana University in 1977.
Throughout his career, Ron held prominent positions including CEO, CFO, and Vice President of E and A Industries. He was also an active member of the Southport United Methodist Church, where he served as chairman of the Lay Committee. Additionally, he served as president of the Financial Executive Institute from 1995 to 1996 and was a member of the National Association of Accountants, Indianapolis Chapter.
A man of many talents, Ron was a gifted artist specializing in oil paintings. He also loved reading and traveling, with a particularly cherished trip to Australia with his wife to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Ron enjoyed spending time at the Hawthorne Golf and Country Club in Fishers. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who never missed a family sporting event.
Ron is survived by his daughter Lee Ann Coe; his grandchildren, Ashley, Coe, Kira Wise and Marlee Wise; his daughter-in-law, Cheryl Wise; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife of 53 years, Corann (McCawley) Wise; his son, Steven Wise and his siblings Karen Guthrie, Donna Mills, Dee Hatch and Juanita Loomis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
For those choosing to make a memorial contribution in Ron’s honor, the family has suggested those be offered to the American Diabetes Association.
