Obituary

Rawleigh Ferguson, Bloomfield, IN, passed away on the early morning of Thursday, May 23, 2024. He was 84 years old. Rawleigh was born in Tompkinsville, KY in Monroe County to his parents William Gardner Ferguson and Annie Ola (Pedigo) Ferguson. Rawleigh married his wife, Elizabeth Jean (Whiteman) Ferguson, in 1959 and they shared 65 years of marriage together.
Rawleigh worked at several places throughout his life, including Fairmont Glass, Roadway Paving, and Guarantee Auto. Eventually, Rawleigh landed at Chevrolet and worked as a welder for 15 years until he retired in 1987. Rawleigh was a man of faith alongside his beloved wife. He was a member of the United Auto Workers from his time at Chevrolet. Rawleigh enjoyed gardening; One season he even grew a three-pound tomato! He also enjoyed tractors, tractor pulls, fishing, hunting, and all the joys that come with the country lifestyle. Rawleigh loved animals and loved spending time with his family. He was friendly but had little patience for those he referred to as “foolish.” Rawleigh’s family have come to rely on his integrity and his loving nature. He will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.
