Obituary

Estacada resident, Randy Ells, died at his home suddenly on Thursday, April 25, 2019. He was 64. Private family services will be held. Randolf Richard Ells was born February 26, 1955 in San Jose, California, to Richard and Barbara (Ensign) Ells. He was raised in Los Gatos, California, where he graduated from high school in 1973. He lived in California until moving to Hubbard, Oregon, in the mid 1980’s. In 2002, Randy moved to Estacada, Oregon, where he lived until his death. He was a cabinet maker and master craftsman for most of his working career while living in California and Oregon. For the last 12 years he was a caregiver for Shirly Wright who died in March of this year. He thought of her as a second mother. Randy enjoyed woodworking, golf, camping, fishing and everything outdoors as his favorite pastime activities. Survivors include his twin siblings, Cynthia (Larry) James of Grants Pass, Oregon, and Chris (Terri) Ells of Estacada, Oregon; nieces Dian, Ingrid, and Julie; nephews David, Josh, Chris, and Rod; and former wife and best friend Cynthia Ells. He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Ells in 2012.
