Obituary
Rachel Towe, a beloved and long-time resident of Crescent City, California,
passed
away peacefully on the morning of July
31st, 2025. She was 90 years old.
Born Rachel Tietz in Ruston, Louisiana, to
Ethel Burdine Tietz and Bernard Tietz Sr.
She was raised in a large, nurturing family
alongside her siblings: Audrey Tietz, Amelia
Tietz, Audell Tietz McCamley Currie,
Bernard Tietz Jr., Charles Tietz, Doyal Tietz, Leah
Tietz Posey, Reuben Tietz, and John Mark
Tietz. Rachel carried warmth and grace
of her southern roots throughout her life.
As newlyweds, Rachel and her loving
husband, Kenneth Towe, moved west to
California in 1954, where they built their
family and future in Crescent City. Rachel and
Ken were the proud owners of Harbor RV
Anchorage, where Rachel became a familiar
face and a pillar of hospitality in the
community.
Rachel is now reunited in heaven with her
cherished husband, Ken, and beloved daughter, Becky Littke. Her legacy of
creativity, positivity, and generosity lives on in her granddaughters, Brittany
Littke and Hilary Littke, and her devoted son-in-law, Darrel Littke Jr.
Rachel will be remembered for her caring
nature, her creative spirit, and her timeless
sense of beauty and style. A talented
seamstress, silversmith, and painter, she poured
artistry into everything she touched. Her
warmth, generosity, and unmistakable charm
brought cheer to everyone who knew her. Her
memory will forever remain a light in the
hearts of those she touched.
