Obituary

Patricia Annette Rooks was born on November 24, 1941, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Joseph S. and Lillian Vincent Marques. She was preceded in death by her older brother, Joseph Marques, and is survived by her younger brother, Richard Marques.

At age 13, Patricia moved with her family from Boston to California. Shortly after graduating from high school, she married John Allen Rooks on July 3, 1959. Together they built a life centered on family and love.

Patricia is survived by her three daughters, Terry, Christy, and Kelley; seven grandchildren, Steven and Alexander Nicholson, Jenna Bushman, Aubree Mendoza, Lilly Doran, Zac Lind, and Josh Rooks; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Her family was the heart of her life, and she cherished every moment with them.

She enjoyed cooking and feeding friends and family, reading, working jigsaw puzzles, watching The Young and the Restless, and sharing lunches with her friends. Patricia’s warmth, love, and generosity touched everyone who knew her, and her legacy of devotion to family will live on through generations.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at Sandy Funeral Home, 39551 Pleasant St., Sandy, Oregon. Following the service, there will be a luncheon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 16317 SE Bluff Rd., Sandy, Oregon. Honoring Patricia’s request, it will be a “nice lunch.”

Memories & Tributes

I am so sad to hear of Pat’s passing. My mother, Terry, was her first cousin and although Patti moved away when they were young, my mother loved her dearly. I only had the chance to meet her a few times…..she was a great lady! My mom always said that her cousin Patti was the sweetest person she had ever known. I hope they have found each other again and are whooping it up in heaven!
Love to all,

Pat was such a sweet bubbly friend. In the years I knew her I never heard her say anything unkind about anyone. She loved her family beyond words. May my friend rest in peace. I will miss her. My condolences to the family. Prayers for comfort and peace. Peg Waldbillig Peggy Waldbillig
Pat was such a special person! I knew her through Linda’s Lunch Bunch! I always enjoy visiting with her and loved how her love for her family always showed through! She will always be remembered for her kind heart! With loving memories, Diane Smyth Diane Smyth
Sometimes you are blessed to have a person like Patricia/auntie in your life. The kindest warmest person I have ever known and had the pleasure of calling auntie. Rest in peace, Rob. Rob Marques
