Obituary

Norman Lynn Ashby, a dedicated husband of 48 years to Betty Lou Ashby, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024, in Albany, Indiana, at 81. Born on October 3, 1942, in Muncie, Indiana, Norman spent 30 years at General Motors and served as a school bus driver for Delaware County Schools. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Norman's life was defined by his commitment to his family and community. 
Norman is survived by his loving wife, Betty Lou Ashby; his three sons, Robert Ashby (significant other, Lisa), Troy Ashby (Wife, Susan), and Tony Ashby (Wife, Tammy); one step-son, Kelly Stevenson; one step-daughter, Shelly Cothran; two brothers, Gordon and Darriel Ashby; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Merna (Sheller) Ashby; his daughter, Diann Ashby; and sisters, Rita Chambers and Donna Jen Snyder 
In accordance with his wishes, Norman will be cremated, and there will be no services at this time. Though he may be physically gone, his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew him.
