Obituary

Silverton resident, Nate Ward, died in an automobile accident on Christmas day. He was 38 years old. A funeral service with military honors will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, January 3, 2020 followed by a committal service at Redland Pioneer Cemetery. Nathan Harley Ward was born November 28, 1981 in Oregon City to Barry and Julie (Reed) Ward. After graduating from Gladstone High School, he entered into the US Marine Corp after 9-11. He spent 4 years serving our country in the infantry 1st Marine Battalion doing 2 tours in Iraq. In 2006, Nate began working at Bonneville Power as a lineman. At the time of his death, he was a line foreman III. Nate loved the outdoors and being adventurous including kayaking, mountain biking, jeeping, building things, RC cars, playing guitar and listening to music. He was always good to people. Survivors include his daughter, Alexi Ward; son, Bryce Ward; parents, Julie Hubbard and Barry Ward; sister, Nichole Ward; nephew, Austin Ward and many other relatives. Contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Had met Nate through our club Cascade Jeepers last year, ran the trails a couple of time with him. He was a great person to be around on & off the trail. I will for sure miss him out there. Steve Foote
