Obituary

Nancy Kathleen Scott (Hammack), after a courageous 30 year battle with numerous painful illnesses, was called to rest by her Lord and Savior on February 20, 2025, at the age of 76, while being cared for at home by family with the amazing assistance of Sutter Coast Hospice.

Nancy was born February 3, 1949, to Robert and Nettie Hammack in Salem, Oregon. Nancy was married to longtime Crescent City resident David E. Scott in 1977. Nancy and David were active members of Grace Lutheran Church, where she will be deeply missed. She was active in the community and worked as a secretary and executive assistant in Del Norte County until her medical retirement in 1999. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her love of family and devotion to her Lord were leading tenants of her life and will have a lasting impact on all who have the honor to know her.

Nancy is survived by her husband, David E. Scott, son James Scott and wife Melissa of New Mexico, son Edward Scott and wife Severin, six granddaughters, and her siblings, who reside in Oregon, Chuck Hammack, David Hammack and Joan Buzbee.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, Alzheimer's Association, or veterans support group of your choosing.
