Obituary
Mitchell Charles Williams finally succumbed to his cancer and passed away peacefully on April 8, 2022, at the age of 64.
Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Mitch managed his illness with strength and grace and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. He underwent three plus extensive rounds of chemotherapy including an all-vicious full round of radiation to multiple sites of cancer. Mitch was determined to beat cancer, but it couldn’t have been just any cancer that he got. Mitch’s lung cancer quickly metastasized to his bones and then his liver and even his brain, but not once did Mitch complain.
Mitchell was born in Bakersfield, California to Thomas Charles Williams and Julia Ann Colby.
Mitch married his lifelong high school sweetheart Jennifer L Brown in 1980 and at the age of 25 moved to Crescent City to raise his family.
Mitchell was truly the best. He would give you the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it.
Mitch led an extensive outdoors life, being a commercial fisherman, the majority of his life was spent in Crescent City. Mitch loved to fish, If he wasn’t out in the ocean fishing you could probably find him at the nearest fishing hole on the Smith River or in the rowboat at the lake. In fact, Mitch was so good at fishing, crabbing, shrimpin’, his only land job was logging a few times. Mitch had multiple hobbies and whatever he touched, he just seemed to be good at including motorcycles, dirt bikes, anything with cars, painting, skateboarding, logging, building, milling wood, welding, diving, construction, art, you name it,... seriously…. Everything. And in the last few years he got really good at glass blowing at his own glass studio.
Mitch is preceded in death by both his parents and his sister Angela Williams.
Mitch Williams is survived by his Spouse Jennifer Williams of Crescent City, his sisters Greta Souza, Jill Spriggs, June Kabonic and Jennifer Cardwell, his son Joshua Williams, his daughter Sarah Williams and His most favorite people ever; his Grandchildren: Lillian, Abigail, Bentley, Brody and Harley, As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
Anyone who met Mitch made friends with him, so my condolences to all his friends also.
