Obituary

Long time Portland resident, Mitchal Poncel passed away on Thursday, April 9th 2020 at Oregon Science Health University (OHSU), He was 45.

Mitchal James Poncel was born August 14, 1974 in Gardena, California. He moved to the Portland area with his family in 1979. Mitch worked for many years at Imago Dei Community Church where he was a jack of all trades. Mitch was a consent presence helping people who were in recovery. He brought jokes and joy wherever he went and was always looking out for the underdog. He was a servant until the end. Mitch was the epitome of generosity and hospitality. He didn’t do things average or the way you’d expect things to be done - and he often did them better, and everything was entirely his own. Mitch was treasured by so many and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his son Garry Mitchal Moore, mother's Royce Alexis Hill and Demertia Monique DeSimone, his siblings Gina Nicole Gipson, Luis Rivera II, Jay McIntyre,Kimberly Michelle Ferreira, Katrina Dawn Anmerine-Snoyman, Crystal McIntyre,Tiffanny Rosebud Moore, Donald Faye Moore and many Aunts, Nieces and Nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
