In Loving Memory of

Mildred Kathleen Kaseweter

July 26th, 1920 - November 16th, 2021

Obituary

July 26, 1920, Mildred (Millie) Kathleen Kaseweter, the last of ten children, was born at home in Southeast Portland, Oregon, to parents Mary and Sebastain Solari who emigrated from Split, Austria.

Millie married her forever love, Melvin August Kaseweter, in 1939, and they raised their three children within a couple of blocks of her childhood home.  Her children were proud to have teachers at Woodstock School who remembered teaching their mother a generation prior.

The couple remained in their home until 1980 at which time they decided to build a house in Sandy to be near their daughter and grandchildren. They thrived in the country air and enjoyed working outdoors in the garden and talking long walks on the gravel roads.  Sadly, Melvin passed away in 1987.

November 16, 2021, Millie was called home to reunite with her beloved parents, siblings, husband, and eldest son, Bob.

Millie’s 101 years were well lived; filled with love, adventure, happiness and a grateful heart. Her love and energy for family and friends was boundless. Her children enjoy reminiscing about their childhood days with the perfect 1950s mom who had supper on the table at 5:00 sharp, baked cookies from scratch daily, watched television sitcoms or played board games with them in the evening.

The family was far from wealthy, and the kids fondly remember their mom joining them in the berry fields to help earn money for school clothes or to put towards a college education.  She would selflessly sacrifice anything to better the lives of her children.

Millie’s life was enriched with each new grandchild who came into the world.  Oh, how she loved being a grandmother!  There was nothing sweeter than her warm smile each time a new grandchild, great-grandchild or great-great grandchild was placed in her loving arms.

Friends will remember Millie for her warm-hearted laugh, her generosity, her caring nature, and her youthful energy.  It was a joy and a blessing to be in her presence.

Her spirit will live on in the lives of her children Connie Pullen of Sandy and Ron Kaseweter (Carole) of Prince George, B.C., and her twelve grandchildren and several great- and great-great grandchildren.

Millie passed peacefully at home in the devoted care of family, and will be laid to rest on Wednesday, November 24, alongside her husband at Cliffside Cemetery in Sandy.
