Michael Thomas German
October 23rd, 1959-November 20th, 2021

Michael Thomas German was born October 23rd, 1959, to Wesley and Ruth German, while stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany. Mike passed away peacefully on November 20th, 2021 surrounded by numerous family members.

Mike grew up in Klamath, California and went to Margaret Keating School, then Del Norte High School where he graduated from in 1977. Soon after, he joined the Coast Guard which he retired from after 20 years of service in 1997. While in the Coast Guard he was stationed in various places but by far his favorite assignment was when he was stationed in Kodiak and Anchorage, Alaska.

Mike enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved the great outdoors and loved telling jokes to his kids and grandkids and they enjoyed sharing jokes with him as well. After Mike retired from the Coast Guard, he worked for a while at the Elk Valley Casino and then at Pelican Bay State Prison. Mike loved helping others especially working on cars and helping an elderly friend or neighbor.

After 20 years, he was reunited with his high school sweetheart and love of his life Rosa Ulmer. Eventually they married and together they blended their two families to become one big family made up of six kids and 10 grandkids. He dearly loved them all.

He is survived by his loving wife Rosa German. His children, son, Christopher German (wife Krystal and kids Ethan, Jacob, Michael and Charlotte); daughter, Nicole Ray (husband Wayne and son Caleb); daughter, Jennifer German (partner Jason and kids Jaden and Joey); daughter Amanda German (wife Lindsay and kids Angelyque and Holdyn); and stepson Joshua Jimenez (son Tyson). His sister Diane Clifton (husband Mike and son Joshua Depew Sr and grandson Josh Jr); niece Jessie Brown (husband Jason and daughters Rose Marie and Ava); sister-in-law Clara Griffith (partner Dave); brother-in-law Juan Jose Ulmer (wife Maryann and kids Rebecca, Michael, Jordan and Gabriela); sister-in-law Ofelia Ulmer and Patricia Ulmer (and her kids William, Charles and Teresita Ulmer-Gensaw); niece Angelica Ulmer and nephew Rudy Ulmer (daughter Lilli); and brother-in-law John Lien and John Depew. Ex-wife Ann German (and her son Steven).

He is preceded in death by his parents Wesley and Ruth German, brother Richard German, sister Patricia Lien, niece Ginger Lien, in-laws Rudy and Teresa Ulmer and stepson Jason Jimenez.

Private interment will take place.
