Obituary

Dr. Michael Lee Bogan 67 of Bargersville, Indiana passed away on April 24, 2024. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on April 14, 1957, to Dr. Robert and Phyllis (Grambush) Bogan. As a Boy Scout he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a 1975 graduate of Pike High School and received his B.A. from Indiana University in 1979. Dr. Bogan earned his M.D. degree from the IU School of Medicine in 1983 and thereafter interned at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Following a residency at the IU Medical Center, he remained on their faculty as an Assistant Professor of Radiology from 1988 - 1990. He then joined Irvington Radiology, P.C. (now Radiology of Indiana) and practiced Diagnostic Radiology at Community Hospitals Indianapolis. After retiring for health reasons in 2000, he became an attorney after earning a J.D. degree from the IU McKinney School of Law in 2005.

Dr. Bogan was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Societies. He was also a past member of the Indianapolis Medical Society, the Indiana and American Medical Associations, and the Indianapolis, Indiana, and American Bar Associations. Additionally, he had been a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and was a Fellow of the American College of Legal Medicine. His community service included past memberships on the Board of Directors of Easter Seals Crossroads Rehabilitation Center and on the INDATA Assistive Technology Advisory Council.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Melody (Vaughn) Bogan; daughter Amanda Bogan; brother Dr. David (Sue) Bogan; sister Barb (Michael) Thompson, and two grandchildren. Per Mike’s wishes there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, P.O. Box 5202, Cincinnati, OH 45201-5202.
