Obituary
Martha Nelle “Marty” Campbell, age 87, passed away on April 15th, 2024 at Ascension St Vincent in Indianapolis, Indiana. Martha was born in Redkey, Indiana and was the daughter of Carl and Laura Sue Hartman.
Martha was a nurse at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital for 33 years and retired in 1994. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. Martha was also a member of the Niles Township Homemaker Club, Delta Theta Tau, and was the County Council President for the Delaware County Homemaker Club. She played the pipe organ at Redkey United Methodist Church and was a board member at Union Chapel Ministries in Muncie, Indiana.
Martha is survived by her children, Michael Campell (wife Jill), Douglas Campbell, Mike Anderson (wife Betty-lou), and Susan Wertz (husband Brad); a brother, Merrill Hartman (wife Shelley); grandchildren, Joshua Campbell, Lauren Pearson (husband Travis), Megan Kinley (husband Johnson), Blake Campbell (wife Taylor), Tyler Campbell, Samuel Wertz, Ethan Wertz, Laura Wertz, Jacob Anderson (wife Britany), and Katie Anderson; as well as 7 great-grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Georgel Campbell; her parents, Carl and Laura Sue Hartman; a daughter, Amy Elizabeth Campbell; a sister, Carol Sue Austin; and a brother, Carl LeRue Hartman.
Visitation for Martha will be held on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024 at Union Chapel (4622 N Broadway Ave, Muncie, IN 47303) from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 25th, 2024 at Union Chapel at 11:00 AM, officiated by Glenn Greiner, with a visitation to be held an hour before service, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana. Memorial contributions can be made to Union Chapel - 4622 N Broadway Ave, Muncie, IN 47303.
