Obituary

Estacada resident, Marlene Hawkins, died at her home on her 72nd birthday, on January 1, 2022. A celebration of her life will be held at 1pm, Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Estacada Funeral Chapel. A wake memorial will follow at the Hawkins residence. Marlene Eve Saale was born January 1, 1950 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was raised in Ogden, Utah by Mother Audrey Nielson. On July 6, 1973, she married Steve Hawkins in Portland, OR. After nearly 15 years in Milwaukie, they made their home in Estacada where they have since been and created their own Christmas tree farm; Lazy Hawk Farm’s. For most of her working career, she was an office manager and administrator. Marlene enjoyed arts and crafts, but mostly enjoyed painting, and loved to cook and bake. Her favorite thing to do was to spend her time with family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Steve Hawkins; daughter, Leah and husband Zoli Plesko, daughter, Gayle and husband Raymond Bell, daughter Mindy and husband Sam Sutton; son, Steve Hawkins, Jr; sisters, Maddi and Maggie; brother, Steve Nave, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Marlene was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed.
