Marjorie (Marji) Riemersma (Olmstead) was born in Toledo, OH on July 25, 1936. She entered Heaven’s gates on May 11th, 2022.
Marji married the late Ronald Riemersma in 1960 and built their first home in St. Paul Minnesota on Oct 22, 1960. They lived in many different states, wherever Ron’s job in automotive industry took them. It was in Allen Park, MI where they decided to raise their family and live 30 years until they retired to Palm City, Florida. They were able to enjoy tennis year-round where Marji was the captain of the lady’s tennis travel team at Monarch Country Club.
Marji had an unwavering faith in God. Marji absolutely loved Jesus and loved dancing. She was a competitive ballroom dancer with the Fred Astaire Dance Team. She won many competitions. Marji was a member of Faith Family Worship Center in Palm City, Florida. Over the years, she worked as Convention Secretary & Flight Attendant with Delta Airlines and lived in Aurora Colorado. She also worked for the Minnesota Twins the first year they came to Minnesota from Washington as the Senators and worked as the Manager of Mail Order Ticket Sales. She also served as President of Christian Women’s Club held at Monarch Country Club and with Women Aglow as Vice President / Treasurer. She also did volunteer work at various nursing homes leading bible studies and music. She was a volunteer with 4 Cs (Caring Children Clothing Children).
Marji is survived by her 2 sons and 2 daughters, Suzanne Drzewiecki (Ebert) of Florida, Randy Riemersma of Indiana, Micki Rodriguez (Riemersma) of Florida, Rick Riemersma of Michigan. She is survived by 7 grandchildren, Angela Evans (Riemersma), Amber Rahill (Lange), Andy Riemersma, Alex Rodriguez, Zachary Rodriguez, Rachel Riemersma and Kal Riemersma. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, Audrey Evans, Owen Evans and Alijana Riemersma.
The family will receive friends and family for a viewing on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, from 10:00 – 12:00 PM at Forest Hills Funeral Home 2001 SW Murphy Road Palm City, FL 34990. A funeral service celebrating her life will follow immediately after the viewing from 12:00 – 1:30. The committal service (immediate family members only) to take place follow immediately following the funeral service.
