Obituary
Margaret M. Tynes died August 21, 2012 after a brief and unexpected illness.
Born August 16, 1930, Margaret lived most of her life in Texas and California. She moved to Crescent City in 1999 and was active in community affairs and organizations. She served for a period of years on the Board of the Community Assistance League and was an active member of the Crescent City Womens Club.
Margaret spent many of her young years in the small town of Mabank, Texas, where she developed an appreciation for rural life. She attended the Hockaday School in Dallas for high school and later graduated with a bachelors degree from Southern Methodist University. She was especially proud of her years as a ranch owner and horsewoman in the Texas Hill Country. She enjoyed traveling and journeyed all over the world during her life, including five visits to Israel and the Holy Land. Throughout her life, she always believed that her primary and most precious purpose in life was to provide guidance, support, humor, and unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, the extended members of her family, and any needy soul who crossed her path.
Surviving her are her son, John Tynes, MD, and his wife Irene Tynes of Crescent City; son Michael Tynes and wife Valarie Tynes, DVM of Sweetwater, Texas; and four grandchildren, Alexandra Miles of Salem, Oregon, Jordan Tynes and wife Taylor McVay of Boston, Massachusetts , and Joely Tynes of Crescent City; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews across several generations who she loved as her own children.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Crescent City on Wednesday, August 29 at 11 am.
Margaret had requested that only a single arrangement of flowers should be at the church for the purpose of proclaiming the Resurrection, and that any monetary gifts of love be directed by the heart of the donor to some special need that they might have or know about.
