Margaret Olive Glasser

Obituary

Margaret Marge Glasser left us early morning February 15, 2012 to be with her
Valentine who had just left her on Veterans Day.

Margaret was born in Santa Ana, California, June 1918 to Lulu and Tobias Minor. After graduating from High School, Margaret began her career as a seamstress. She loved sewing and later made clothing for many years for her family.

While attending a dance at the Pike in Long Beach, California she met the love of her life Bill Glasser. After an eighteen month courtship and waiting for him to get off his Navy Ship in San Francisco, California they married in a Court House December 23,1943, and again in a Catholic Church in Illinois and Elvis Presley Chapel, Las Vegas renewing their vows after 55 years.

Margaret lived many places during her husbands 20 year Navy career becoming a wife and mother was her new venture on life. She made homes for her family in China, Illinois, San Diego, Napa, Bakersfield and finally in Crescent City. When her husband retired they traveled the United States camping, fishing, dancing and making friends wherever they went. She and Bill were soul mates that did everything together. They loved visiting their children and families, playing dominoes, cards and listening to good ole country music. She and Bill were truly an inspiration to what true love really is, having spent 68 years together. Margaret was a good mother, friend and companion. She worked hard at being a thorough homemaker up until 89 years old when she and Bill let someone else make the meals and keep house. Even then she was right there for her husband sharing meals, watching ball games and playing dominoes. Bill had a saying about his lovely wife, Never mess with a woman who does Cross Word Puzzles with a pen.

Margaret, Marge, mom, grandma, will be missed and loved in the hearts she touched.

Her legacy has left behind her children Patti, Bill Jr., Bob (Leslie),Katie (Jay) and Teri (Victor). She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren Jason, Jayleen, Shannon, Jayme, Jessie, Jerad, Darcy and Russell and 9 great grandchildren Brittney, Libbi, Bryson, Lauren, Kaden, Juliana, Maisy, Ryland and Andie.

In keeping with Margarets wishes the family will be holding a private service. Condolences can be sent to Glasser Family c/o Addie Meedom 1445 Parkway Dr. Crescent City, CA 95531.
