Obituary
Gladstone resident, Mae Senum died at McLoughlin Place Memory Care in Oregon City, Oregon on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. She was 84.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, August 27, 2018, at Estacada Funeral Chapel. A committal service will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Estacada.
Mae Carrie Senum was born May 20, 1934, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota to Gunder and Hattie (Klockman) Senum. She was raised on the family farm. In 1972 she moved to California to be with her sister Violet and her family. Then she moved to Lynnwood, Washington in 1973 and worked at Flukes Electronics for over 22 years. In 1995, she retired and moved to Milwaukie, Oregon. In 2013, Mae moved to Summerset Independent Living until she was no longer able to take care of herself. Then she was moved to McLoughlin Place Memory Care facility in 2014.
Mae enjoyed playing Pinochle and gardening. She also enjoyed playing guitar and singing with her sister, Dorothy. They san together a lot with the Old Time Fiddlers. She was a member of the Eagle Creek Grange for many years. She helped with many events there including the annual Valentines Day Dinner, Easter Egg Hunt and Flea Market.
Survivors include her sisters, Alsace “Tootsie” Potter of Gladstone, Violet Bonk of Estacada, Oregon; sisters in law, Donna Harbott of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, Sandy Senum of Auburn, California; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Wehus; brothers, Willy, Gunder and Edwin Senum.
