Obituary

Mrs. Loretta Rose Grubel, age 90, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away on November 3rd, 2024 surrounded with her loving family at home. Loretta was born on September 9th, 1934 in Van Wyck Hospital in Jamaica, Queens, New York. On June 18th, 1955 she married James F. Grubel in Our Lady of Loretto Church in Hempstead, Long Island, New York. She was a loving wife and dedicated housewife, raising four children. Loretta loved to read and listen to music, In 1998, she and her husband moved to Ormond Beach from Shirley, Long Island, New York. She became a member of her local Red Hat Society here in Ormond Beach, going on group trips and other events. Loretta enjoyed ushering at her local theater. 

Loretta is survived by her son, James R. Grubel of The Villages, Florida; daughters, Loretta A. Ladkins (Greenbrier, Arkansas), Barbara J. Grubel-Nguyen (Houston, Texas), and Jacqueline M. Carlson (Ormond Beach, Florida); brother, Edward Moran (Johns Island, South Carolina); 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. 

A Visitation will be held from 9-10 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 600 S. Nova Road, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174, 386-672-5272. A Funeral Service will follow at 10 AM. Burial will take place at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, November 12th, 2024 at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Loretta Grubel's name to a charity of your choice.
