Obituary
Linda Darlene Warner grew up in Mooresville, IN, resided in Carmel for 30 years, and left this life on March 2, 2024, at her home in Greenwood, IN. She is survived by her husband, Tim Warner, her three children, Niki (Scott) Rolen, Danielle (Scott) McElroy, and Timothy (Shaina) Warner, and four grandchildren, Hailee (James) Herin, Kaia Warner, Raine Rolen, and Finn Rolen. She was born in the middle of 6 children; old enough to watch the little ones, and young enough to tag along as a third wheel with the big ones.
When two babies came along before the age of 20, she had to find a way to care for them, with very little. She walked them to a clinic for free vaccinations. She bought her food with food stamps. She lived in government housing. She stretched a pot of ham and beans for a week. She even shined shoes at the airport. That’s where she met the man of her dreams, and a new life began. They bought a home, got a dog, put the kids in sports, and best of all, adopted a son.
She was happy and gregarious in those years. She loved giving gifts, even to strangers. She befriended fast food workers in the drive through. She loved art, bright colors, music, decorating, glitter, jewelry, shopping, clothes, children, animals, baking, eating out, ordering off the menu, and desserts.
Through all this, she sometimes struggled. Linda was a trauma survivor. She spent many years battling not only that trauma, but her health as well. Because of this, in lieu of flowers, her family invites you to give to these two important resources:
Deeper Walk International, a ministry helping people identify and overcome obstacles in a biblical way, run by her brother-in-law, Marcus Warner. https://DeeperWalkInternational.org/donate and also the publishing of a new trauma healing book written by her son-in-law, Scott McElroy, “How to CARE: Crisis, Disaster, and Trauma Ministry with the Arts.” https://GoFundMe.com/HelpCAREArts
There will be a private family gathering and service.
