Obituary

Mrs. Linda Carol Grubbs passed away on the early morning of Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Grand Brook of Greenwood. She was 84. Linda was born December 20, 1939 in Tell City, Indiana, a daughter of the late Bernard Fredrick and Lillian Catherine (Menner) McCawley.
Linda attended and graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in Indianapolis and had worked at various places before devoting her life to her husband and caring for her children as she created a wonderful home for them. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She spent much of her leisure time reading and crafting as well as walking around the mall and being with her friends and family. She and her husband enjoyed traveling which included taking day trips and taking vacations across the country.
Linda was a member of the Southport United Methodist Church where she served as a greeter for many years. She also lived out her faith by contributing to various charities that were dear to her heart. She further served by volunteering at the Wheeler Mission. She loved and cared deeply for people and they in turn loved her.
Linda is survived by her children, Dean Grubbs and Dawn Welch; her grandchildren, Dacoda Welch (fiance: Miranda Sego), Shelby (Josh) Payton and Ryan Welch; several great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Ron Wise; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband of nearly 60 years, Harold Dean Grubbs and her sister, Corann Wise.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
