Obituary

Linda Marie (Tveitbakk) Nelson was born September 21, 1944 in Bremerton, Washington to Louis and Lorraine Tveitbakk. When the war was over the family moved back to Minnesota where she grew up. She attended and graduated from high school in Clearbrook, Minnesota where she met her future husband. After graduating from high school, she attended the Crookston School of Nursing and graduated as an LPN in 1964. Neil and Linda were married on April 12, 1964 in Clearbrook, Minnesota. They moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota where they made their first home. After a year, they moved to South St. Paul. Linda worked in a local hospital until their son Alan was born in 1966. In 1968 the family moved to Billings, Montana. In 1970 their daughter Karen joined the family. In 1972 the family moved to Anchorage, Alaska. While in Anchorage, Linda was active in the church teaching Sunday School and junior church, singing in the choir and also in small groups. She enjoyed being a part of the Christian Women’s Club. She did lots of sewing including clothes for herself, the children and even coats. In 1980 the family moved to the Portland, Oregon area and bought a home near Barton. Linda returned to work as an LPN where she worked in Labor and Delivery. As requirements changed, she returned to school and earned her RN license. She spent nearly 30 years in Labor and Delivery and really loved that work. She retired in 2010. Linda loved music; singing in the choir and worship singing. She also loved quilting, crafts and craft magazines and flowers. Linda was active in the Bible study group and service projects.
