Obituary
A Funeral Service for Lillian Heiman will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Home Community Church. A private burial will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Lillian Dora Heiman passed away on May 5, 2021 at the age of 103. She was born in Portland on March 24, 1918 to Swiss immigrants Amalia and Herman Bachofner. She grew up in the Montevilla neighborhood with her siblings Herbert, Alice, Raymond and Ernest. She studied Bookkeeping and kept books for several local businesses in her youth.
In 1943, she married Arnold Heiman before he went overseas to serve in World War II. They settled in Pleasant Home where they raised two children, Lawrence and Donna. Later they built a home in Cottrell where they lived for 40 years.
Lillian loved spending time outdoors, gardening and going on nature walks. She also loved reading and chatting on the phone and took great pride in keeping a tidy home. She was an active member of the Pleasant Home Baptist Church, keeping books for them for many years. She was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, siblings and children. She is survived by grandchildren Rebecca Speitz, Tess Barr-Hamblin and Dylan Barr as well as 6 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
