Obituary

Longtime Estacada resident, Lilas Long, died in Oregon City on February 25, 2020. She was 81. A graveside service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery. Lilas Ann Smith was born February 5, 1939 in Richwood, West Virginia. Her family moved across the United States including Ohio, Washington and Oregon. She graduated from high school in Cincinnati, Ohio. She married Rocky Long in 1962. They moved to Estacada in 1975 where she lived until her death. Lilas enjoyed knitting, politics, and gardening. She had a great faith in God and was very kind and gentle to all who knew her. Survivors include her son, David Long; daughter, Teresa Grogan; grandchildren, Jene Long, Amanda Long and Roxanne Grogan. She was preceded in death by her husband Rocky in 2003.
