Born to Franklin and Aleena Gochanour in Addy, Washington. He is proceeded in death by his three brother and three sisters.

Leon is survived by his loving wife of all most 70 years, Gloria, their three daughters (Christy, Sandy, and Roxanne) and son (Charles). He was always surrounded by his children their spouses, and a "small herd" of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Leon was a proud Korean Army Veteran and Tolowa Dee-ni' Tribal elder. A quiet man with not much to say, but meant what he did say. He will be missed by each family member to include his surviving two sister and the rest of his tribe.
