Obituary

Leonard (Len) Fuerstenau, beloved husband, father, uncle, brother- in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, age 93, passed away December 13 in his home with his wife Dolores of 68 years by his side.

Born in North Dakota on January 14, 1927 Len moved with his family to Sandy, Oregon as a young boy. He graduated from Sandy High School in 1945 and immediately reported for army basic training.  He was honorably discharged in Feb of 1947.

Len met his wife Dolores in Sandy where she came to student teach. They married in December of 1952. They had three children David, Ramona and Roger.

Len worked for Honeywell for over 30 years in the industrial sales and services division. He was a faithful Christian and Lutheran church member, an avid singer, fisherman, gardener, rockhound and loved to go camping.

He is survived by his wife Dolores; children David (wife Patti Steurer) Ramona and Roger; grandchildren Marisa Fisher (husband Adam Draude) Brenden Fuerstenau, Ben Fisher, Kellen Fuerstenau, Shaylyn Fuerstenau and great granddaughter and namesake Leona Draude.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the last of the Lutheran churches he helped to build over his lifetime, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Vancouver, WA.

A private burial will take place at Sandy Ridge Cemetery.
