Obituary

Leslie "Lee" Leland Powel was born in Buxton, Or. and died peacefully in his home in Sandy, Or., at the golden age of 90.

Lee was an Army veteran who spent time overseas in Okinawa serving his country. Upon return from his service, he met his bride of 48 years Peni Powell in Eureka, California. Soon after they moved to Portland, Or. where he joined the Steamfitters Union and spent many years being a part of Local Union 290. In 1968 they moved to Sandy, Or. to raise their family. Lee and Peni spent 22 years farming and raising cattle on Phelps Rd. In 1990 they moved to Fish Hatchery Road to enjoy their retirement.

During Lee’s retirement he became accomplished in wood working, landscaping and enjoyed many hours working on his collector cars. Lee enjoyed participating in many car-shows, exhibiting his 40’ Plymouth and 67’ Plymouth Belvedere. Lee was an active member of Cascade Pacific Plymouth.

Lee was proceeded in death by wife Peni Powell and daughter Stacy Powell and is survived by his son Kelly Powell, granddaughter’s Jaime Schoessler (Derek), Jenna Leonard and great grandson Ryder Schoessler.
