Obituary
Lawrence “Larry” Eugene McCall entered into eternity on January 17th, 2021, at the age of 92, after a short battle with cancer.
Larry was the younger of two boys born to Dan and Meta McCall on November 17th, 1928, in Palo Alto, California. Larry joined the US Army at age 18 to serve with the Occupation Forces in Japan after World War 2. He served as a Private First-Class for a year and a-half and upon his discharge, returned to California and married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Rimmer.
Larry embarked upon a career as a house painter eventually settling in Crescent City. An avid fisherman and outdoor enthusiast, Larry enjoyed his life and loved listening to music of the big band era, especially “Autumn Leaves” by Montovani .
He was preceded in death by his older brother, Richard, his beloved wife, Marilyn and his nephew, John.
Larry leaves behind his loving caregiver/friend, Dollie, who dedicated several years of her life to Larry, being a good friend, companion and caregiver to him. Also, Dollie’s daughter, Cindy, who was such a big help in both of their lives for the last couple of years. He is also survived by four nieces and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
