Obituary

Kimberly Beck-Frate of Ormond Beach, Florida loved to help people. She poured her entire being into everything she did, including loving her husband of over 20 years and her cats. Her passion was counseling. Kim began working with the terminally ill at Halifax Health Hospice over thirty years ago. She was instrumental to the development of the Traumatic Loss Program with Halifax Health Hospice. She was so inspired by her work there, Kim got her Doctorate in Trauma and Loss. She loved her work with the trauma families and would always be there for anyone in need. Kim transformed and saved thousands of lives, as evidenced by the testimonials from her clients. Kim's true compassion and love for her clients, friends, and family radiated from her spirit.

A native of Lexington, North Carolina, Kim moved to Florida in the early 1980's and fell in love with the Daytona Beach area. It was evident in all the community work and impact of special events Kim planned and lead. There is a wide trail of people she touched in the community. She so enjoyed working with people who had similar passions to help those in need.

Kim met her husband in the mid 1990's and loved spending time doing everything with him. They loved going to concerts, sporting events, and just being together. They supported each other through life's ups and downs and her many health issues. One thing for sure - the love and support for each other was unwavering and as strong as her passion to help people. She loved to have fun. Kim passed away in her husbands loving arms just as she desired.

Kim is survived by her husband and soulmate, Philip Eric Frate; her father Leonard Beck Sr. and his wife, Cindy Beck; her brother Hubie Beck; her niece Tawny Pressley and her husband, Jordan Pressley, and their children; her niece Kelsey Coppley and her husband, Tyler Coppley, and their children; her best friend and cousin Kaffee Cope and her husband, Scott Cope; and her nieces Courtney and Amy Cope. She is also survived by her father-in-law Philip Frate and his wife, Sharon Frate; her in-laws Marcia Jaeger and Andrea Frate, and their families. She was predeceased by her mother and best friend June Beck, and her mother-in-law Nancy Frate.

A special thanks to Halifax Health for their steadfast support throughout Kim's journey. Their commitment extended beyond recent times, as they played a vital role in maintaining Kim's health and survival for over thirty years, despite her slim chances of survival.. Kim made great use of that time and dedicated her life to helping others. Halifax Health truly cares. Her family, especially her husband Eric, is forever grateful for that gift.
