Obituary
Katherine Landon McFetridge, born May 19, 1920, in Ocean View,
Virginia, moved to California in 1925. She attended Shenandoahs
Grammar School, then Alexander Hamilton High School, graduating
1939. Kay worked at her parents plumbing and hardware store for
years. She meet her first husband Charles E. McCuan in 1940 at
Catalina Island and they married in February 1941. She had three
children and later divorced in 1971. Kay married Fred McFetridge in
1974.
In Kays younger life, she loved to play golf and bowled. She bowled
up until she was 90 years old. Kay loved to crochet, she was known
for her oreo cookies in a jar and was also a great cook. Fred and
Kay received the Good Neighbor of the Year award in 1990 in
Beaverton, Ore. They were the grand marshals in the Beaverton
Parade.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents Agnes and Fred Shipley;
brother Fred Shipley; son Michael McCuan, daughter Louise Cory;
first husband Charles E. McCuan and Frederick McFetridge. She
had been married for 30 years to each of her husbands.
Kay is survived by her son Charles Fred McCuan, grandsons
Charles M McCuan; Eric Paul McCuan and his wife Kristina. Great
grandchildren Christian, who is in the Air Force, and also Adriel and
Renae.
At Katherines request, services will not be held. Private interment
will take place in Medford, Ore.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Katherines memory to
the Boy or Girl Scouts or the Salvation Army.
Katherine loved everybody.
