Karan Michael (Cowboy) Yount

Longtime Sandy resident, Karan Yount, died September 19, 2019 in Gresham. She was 72.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Karan Michael Yount was born February 6, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio to Henry and Phyllis (Kiehl) Yount. She was raised in California for most of her childhood. She worked in retail for most of her working career. Karan moved to Sandy in 2010 where she lived until her death.

As a young adult, people started referring to her as Cowboy Karan and the name stuck with her as she lived up to the name.

She enjoyed being with her family, cats and dogs. She had a great love of horses. She had a great sense of humor, very kind and compassionate and most of all she was an amazing mom and a hero to her daughters.

Survivors include her daughters, Judith Jay “Jay Jay” (Robert William), Mary Margaret “Marty”; little sister, Era Regina; granddaughter, Jessica Autumn (Robert Michael); grandson, Johnathan Anthony; great grandson, Donovan Michael.
