Obituary

Judy Louise Ziegelmayer, age 79, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, at her home in Estacada, Oregon.

Born on January 9, 1946, in South Portland, Maine, to parents, Eldred and June Harris. Judy was raised in a loving family that instilled in her the values of compassion and service. After completing high school in South Portland, she pursued her passion for healthcare at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, a part of Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts, where she became a registered nurse.

Judy dedicated the majority of her career to the operating room at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Massachusetts and Willamette Falls Hospital in Oregon City, exemplifying her commitment to patient care and welfare. In 1967, she married Herbert Ziegelmayer, and together they embarked on a journey to build a life and family in Oregon, raising two sons, Kurt and Jay Ziegelmayer.

Throughout her life, Judy was deeply involved in her community and had a wide array of hobbies. She was an active member of St. Aloysius Church, where she shared her voice in the choir. Additionally, she found joy in the Skip A Week Quilt Club and was recognized for her artistic talent, particularly in drawing.

After a fulfilling career, Judy retired from her role as a Surgical Room Supervisor at Willamette Falls, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and kindness.
Judy's life was a testament to her passion for nursing, her love for family and friends, and her artistic spirit. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving son, Kurt Ziegelmayer; her grandson, Timothy Price; and her former husband, Herbert Ziegelmayer.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jay Ziegelmayer, and her brother, Robert Harris.
