Obituary
Judith "Judy" Kaye Swan Meyers, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, age 74, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 12, 2024, with her husband by her side at Divine Life Assisted Living in Dewitt, Michigan following a brief illness.. Judy was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on October 8, 1949, to Clifford and Virginia Swan. The family moved to Michigan shortly after. Judy and Gary grew up attending the same church and were married on June 22, 1967, and they had two children, Ginger and Gary Jr. Judy was a Paraprofessional with the Lansing School District for over 20 years. She was also a devoted Girl Scout and Sunday school teacher for many years. Judy enjoyed reading, being active with the UAW Local 602, and camping with her husband, her dog Thunder, and cat Mo. Judy was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #10624 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
Judy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gary E. Meyers Sr., her children Ginger (Rob) Stratton, Gary (Angel) Meyers Jr., her siblings David (Vonalyn) Swan and Marti Swan Munsell, grandchildren Kayelynn Collins, Kelsey Collins, Katie Collins, Isabella Stratton and Tiffeney Stratton, and several Nieces, cousins, and friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ronald (Rusty) Swan, Arthur Swan, and her in-laws Edward and Gwendolyn Meyers.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 12:30pm with a visitation to begin at 10:30am at Calvary Baptist Church located at 14769 Wood Road, Dewitt, Michigan. Interment will follow at 2:00pm at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 4444 W. Grand River Avenue, Lansing, Michigan 48906. Arrangements are being handled by Gorsline-Runciman.
