In Loving Memory of

Judith Gargus Hodge

June 13th, 1941 - April 12th, 2024

Obituary

Judith “Judy” Gail Hodge passed away on the afternoon of Friday, April 12th, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Judy was rambunctious, loud, bold, and the loving matriarch of her family. She and Charles, her doting husband of 54 years, had three children; Perry, Todd, and Kristi, and raised their eldest granddaughter, Jaimie. They were also lifelong members of Bethel United Baptist Church. Judy perfectly balanced the working mom lifestyle, working retail for years at Behrs and Brads, but never missing a day rising before her children to cook a full breakfast of bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy. Though she was a master of holiday dressing, she could not microwave popcorn without completely burning it, which has etched a memory for her family. Her family cherishes her, her fun nature, and the innumerable stories that she has left with them. From her every two-year car buying obsession, to her ability to accessorize, camping and motorcycling recreation, to bowling trophies, and playing football in the yard and wrestling in the floor with the great grandkids well into her late seventies. She lived life out loud and passed this on to everyone in her Hodge family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Edward Hodge; daughter, Kristi Salers; sister, Carolyn Morrison; and parents, Beatrice and Louie Gargus.
She is survived by her adoring sons, Perry (Tara) Hodge and Todd (Nica) Hodge; grandchildren, Jaimie (Elzie) Sweeten, Tiffany (Richard) Garrard, Kara (Joey) Edmondson, Judson (Shelby) Hodge, Cody (Brittany) Owens, Madison (Brandon) Aderholt, Haley (Daniel) Miller, Chelsey (AJ) Parker, Katie Campbell, Taylor Hodge, McKenzie Hodge, Josh (Hannah) Campbell, McKenna Hodge, Charlie Hodge; great grandchildren, Jaythen Sweeten, Blaine and Braxton Garrard, Jayden and Jayla Sweeten, Keller Aderholt, Timberlee Miller, Holden Aderholt, Bo Edmondson, Evelyn Campbell, Ezra Hodge, Harley Hodge, Declan Miller, Ace Edmondson, and Max Hodge; son in law, Shane (Suzanne) Salers; sister, Faye Heath; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held, Tuesday, April 16th, at     2:00 at Crestwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Judson Hodge, Cody Owens, Taylor Hodge, Josh Campbell, Jaythen Sweeten, Jayden Sweeten, Charlie Hodge,  Elzie Sweeten, Richard Garrard, Joey Edmondson, Brandon Aderholt, and Shane Salers.
