Obituary

John Richard Smith, 63, of Whiteland, Indiana went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 29, 2024.  He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his large circle of family, friends, colleagues, and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.
John was born in Wichita, Kansas, September 6, 1960 to James and Jennieve Smith. John was a graduate of Speedway High School and Indiana University and was employed by ALM First Financial Advisors.
John is survived by his devoted wife and high school sweetheart, Susie (Engmark) Smith; sons, Nick (Tracy), and Justin; grandchildren Cole, Addison, Jeremiah, Lillian, and Nora Lynne; sister Judy (John) and twin brother Jay (Jamie).
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jerry, and his sister Jeannette. 
John enjoyed golfing and traveling with his wife, family, and friends, and spending quality time with his grandkids.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 1:00 until 3:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 3:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home at 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN, 46143.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in John’s memory may be made to Versiti Blood Research Institute foundation (versiti.org ) or the American Heart Association (www.heart.org).
