Obituary
Joel Matthew Brown, 81, of Parkland, FL. entered into eternal peace on Sat. April 13th 2024. He is survived by his wife of 58 yrs. Sarah Jane as well as children Joel Miles (Tina) Elmhurst, IL. And Timothy Scott (Andrea) Coral Springs, FL. Also left to cherish memories of Joel are "Peeps" (grandchildren), Joshua, Grayson, Madison, and Tatiana. He is further survived by sisters Wanda Wilkerson, Knoxville TN., Sylvia Holbert, Knoxville, TN, Patricia (Ray) Vandaveer, Maryville, IN. and several Nieces And Nephews. He was preceded in death by Father, John A. Brown, Mother, Ruthie Jane Scott Brown, Brother, W. L. Brown And sister Charlotte Cagle.
Joel was born on April 30th 1942. He graduated South High School in 1961 and then entered the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964. After, he relocated to Chicago, IL. and returned to Knoxille, TN on Labor Day 1965 where he met his soon to be wife. They married in November of 1966 and together they welcomed two Sons. Joel worked for the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors in Lagrange, IL., before going to work for the Saturn Corporation in Springhill, TN. Joel retired in 2000. Joel enjoyed being with Family and friends, golfing, fishing, and boating on Kentucky Lake.
A Graveside Service will be held June 29th 2024 at Mt. View Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery, 282 Hickman Creek Rd. Dover, TN.
