In Loving Memory of

Jerome Michael Holman

October 8th, 1946 - September 13th, 2021

Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we had to say goodbye to a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, prankster and friend.

Jerome "Jerry" Holman of Pine Hollow, Oregon passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday September 13th. He was 74.Jerry was a true Oregon native, born in The Dalles, Oregon to Richard and Doris Holman on October 8, 1946. He went on to build a career, start a family and spend most of his adult life in Portland, Oregon.

Employed at Freightliner from the age of 19, until he was able to actually retire on his 55th birthday, it is here where Jerry formed many of his best friendships, all of which we still consider to be a part of our "family" to this very day.  Upon his retirement, he and his wife relocated to the family property at Pine Hollow Reservoir, where he spent his time fishing, spending time with friends and neighbors, and always coming up with new projects to work on in his shop. Pine Hollow is where he truly called home, and where he knew he belonged.

Anyone who was fortunate enough to know him, loved him. He made fast friends with everyone he met, and will be forever missed by so many.

Jerry is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Verna Holman, his two children, Teressa Hayes and Jeffrey Holman, three loving sisters, Pat Foust, Sandy Crawford and Sue Brittain, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of an official service, we will be holding a private celebration of life this coming Spring, for friends and family, at a date that has yet to be determined.

~ May he forever rest in peace ~

Memories & Tributes

My deepest condolences to Aunt Verna, Teresa, Jeff & all who knew & loved “Uncle Jerry”. My hope was to get down there & visit, I’m sorry I didn’t make it. I always loved Uncle Jerry & looked forward to visits in Portland. Rest In Peace. Kimberly Botts
Rest in Peace Uncle Jerry. Heartfelt condolences to all. Robin Sterba
So glad we came to visit last year. It had been many many years since we had seen them or been to their place in pine hollow. We will always remember him as a good friend and neighbor. Rest in piece. Dale & Julie Reed
I grew up being best friends with Jeffrey Holman, that being said his family literally treated me like their own child. I have the utmost respect for Jerry and Verna. Jerry spent time teaching both Jeff and I how to be good people. I can safely say I'm more in touch with the outdoors because of him. My heart goes out to the Holman's and I recognize I am a better person for having the pleasure of knowing them. Love and Prayers. Adam Newman
